92 and Still on Court with Calle Ringvold
Plenty of sugar and lemon—that’s Calle’s recipe for staying young and playing tennis at 92.
We met him at Bekkelagshøgda Tennisklubb in early September. The clay courts were still open, but the air was getting crisper and autumn was clearly on its way.

The Whole Body at Play
Tennis demands everything. Feet moving, core engaged, arms in motion—every joint has a part to play.
For Calle, it’s also a game of tactics. Don’t just hit it back and forth. Switch the pace. Change the angles. Keep them guessing. His signature weapon is the slice—a shot that can slow things down, drop short or get you out of trouble when you’re under pressure.
Shoes, Stocks and Tennis
Fashion has always been part of Calle’s world. Before days spent on the court and at the office, he ran a big footwear agency—building a lifelong interest in clothes, shoes and how people put themselves together.
“When I’m abroad, I can sit at a street café all day, watching people pass by—their clothes, their shoes and the way they wear them. I never get tired of it.”
That curiosity hasn’t faded. Calle still plays regularly and rarely takes a day off. When he’s not on court, you’ll find him at the office, buying and selling stocks.
